UPCOMING EVENTS OF INTEREST SPONSORED BY OTHERS

Peacemaking the the Home, School and Community is a one day conference at the Friends School of Baltimore, November 11, 2007, 8am to 5pm. In it, educators, parents, and concerned citizens will explore the possibility of peace in our homes, schools, and the world and help individuals learn how they can make a difference. Speakers include Colman McCarthy,Director of the Center for Teaching Peace and David J. Smith, Senior Program Officer of the United States Institute of Peace Smith. There are 30 different workshops and presentation during the day to choose from, and they fill up fast. Breakfast and lunch are included. The registration fee is $70 for adults and $35 for students and scholarships are available for those who otherwise would be unable to attend.
