MD Interfaith Legislative Committee and MD Christians for Justice and Peace

Maryland Christians for Justice and Peace (part of Maryland Interfaith Legislative Committee) are meeting.
TIME: Saturday, Jan 13, 2007 from 2pm to 5pm
LOCATION: Christ Congregational Church (UCC)

Directions: Take I-495 Washington Beltway to Exit 30(b)--Colesville Road south. Go just two quick blocks, and then make a left on Brewster Ave to access church parking lot.

Maryland Christians for Justice and Peace are part of a larger umbrella organization, Maryland Interfaith Legislative Committee (MILC), which-consisting of 20 of Maryland's leading faith-based advocacy agencies and organizations - Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim.
Major Advocacy Issues for 2007:
Housing and Homelessness
Medical Care Access
Home Energy Costs and Conservation
Welfare Financial Assistance for the Poor
Issues surrounding Immigration.
Other issues: the death penalty, workforce issues, and opposition to slots and legalized gambling.

Maryland Christians for Justice and Peace are also participating in planning for the Maryland Statewide Interfaith Anti-War Rally, Sunday January 28, 2007 at 4 PM in Baltimore. The location is still tentative.
