Peace & Justice Activism Winter 2010

Wed, Dec 30th, 5:00 to 7:00 pm.- Candlelight vigil to commemorate the one year anniversary of the Israeli invasion of Gaza in Downtown Washington, DC, at the corner of 7th and H Streets, N.W. (Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro). To commemorate the one year anniversary of the Israeli invasion of Gaza, peace activists from around the country will be on hand to commemorate the one year invasion of Gaza, in which over 1,300 Palestinians were killed during 22 days of bombings. Living conditions in Gaza remain desperate. The vigil is part of a worldwide effort in solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza, including a Freedom March scheduled to take place in Gaza on Dec. 31st, involving peace activists from 42 countries. Locations: 2640 St. Paul St. Baltimore, MD. Explore the intersection of theater and struggles for dignity and justice through Theater of the Oppressed, the Battle of Stories Framework, street theater and puppet making. Presenters include Classlines, Theater Action Group (TAG), Puppet Underground, Bashi Rose and Mitchell Ferguson with NOMMO Theater, and the United Workers.
