Peace Events 3-07 On

Fri Mar 16, 7pm Christian Witness for Peace starting with a service at the Washington National Cathedral and optional candlelit procession to the White House. Then a prayer vigil and optional nonviolent civil disobedience . The National Cathedral is now full. But there are alternative sites with simulcasts of the National Cathedral Service.

Sun, March 18th 1 - 3 PM, "Searching for Peace in the Middle East"
A film produced by the Middle East foundation - Including Arik Ascherman, Rabbis for Human Rights and Hana Ashrawi, a Palestinian legislator. We'll watch this 30 minute documentary and then continue our discussion on options, opportunities, and possible actions for peace in the Middle East.

On this, the fourth commemoration of the invasion of Iraq, urge the City Council to adopt a resolution against the "Surge," and to call upon the U.S. Congress to limit funding for Iraq to money needed to safely withdraw the troops and provide for their needs at home.
